Build a QR code menu with contactless ordering
Kliv is an AI app builder. Describe your tables, menu, sold-out rules, kitchen routing, table tabs, split bills, and checkout, and it builds a QR code menu with contactless ordering on your own Stripe account.
Just enter your idea into the text box and AI will build it for you
What is Kliv?
Kliv isn’t a marketplace ordering app that sits between you and your guests — it’s an AI app builder that builds software for you.
You describe the ordering system you need in plain words, and Kliv builds it: the menu, table codes, order routing, tabs, payment flow, admin screens, and database. You own it, run it on your own domain, and payments run on your own Stripe account. It isn’t a generic menu template.
On this page, that app is a QR code menu with contactless ordering. Kliv builds all kinds of web apps; this one is for restaurants, bars, gardens, and venues that want the ordering path to be theirs.
Why build your own QR ordering system?
A busy beer garden does not need a marketplace app between the bench and the kitchen. It needs each table code to know where the order came from, a menu that changes when something sells out, and separate kitchen and tap queues that still land on one table tab.
Kliv builds that system around your tables and your rules. The menu, routing, tabs, split bills, refunds, and checkout are one app in your own database, with payments on your own Stripe account.
The garden, table by table
Five records carry the service from scan to paid tab.
Tables and codes
The code is tied to the table. Every order arrives with its bench or seat, so runners do not guess where it belongs.
The live menu
Items, prices, and availability are rows. Mark a €9.40 Maß of helles sold out, and it disappears from every open phone.
The table tab
Rounds accumulate on one tab per table. At close, it can settle as one payment or split by seat, with receipts sent by email.
Kitchen and taps
One order can split into two queues: food to the kitchen screen, drinks to the taps, then back together for the runner.
Price windows
Specials start and end on schedule because the catalog stores the time window.
An example: Ottilie’s beer garden
Here’s how one business might use it. It’s only an example — you would describe your own tables, menu, routing, tabs, and payment rules.
The day starts with the right menu
Before opening, Ottilie restocks yesterday’s sold-out items, sets the weekend special live, and confirms the prices in the catalog.
Tables order without a counter queue
Forty benches order in the first hour. Food appears on the kitchen screen, drinks appear at the taps, and runners deliver instead of taking orders.
Sold-out items disappear everywhere
When the helles keg runs dry, Ottilie flips one switch. The item vanishes from every phone, so the taps stop receiving impossible orders.
Open tabs survive a pause in service
A rain shower pushes guests under the awnings. Table tabs stay open and intact, and ordering resumes when the sun returns.
Split bills and refunds keep a record
At close, Table 41 splits four ways by seat. A spilled Maß refund goes through with a manager’s approval attached.
The owner reads the day from rows
On Sunday morning, Ottilie reviews pours by hour, kitchen pace, and which benches ordered most. The answers come from her own order records.
Describe what you want to build
Kliv builds from your description, so the more detail you give, the closer the first version. Name your tables, menu rules, queues, tabs, refunds, and payment flow. Here are three to build on:
Beer garden menu
Table codes, two queues, table tabs, and split bills.
“Build a QR ordering system for our beer garden. Put one code on each table end, keep one splittable tab per table, mark sold-out items unavailable on every phone immediately, route food to the kitchen and beers to the taps, and settle payments through our own Stripe account.”
Rooftop pool bar
Order from the lounger, pay by card or room number.
“Build contactless ordering for our rooftop pool bar. Guests should scan a code at their lounger, order drinks and snacks with their seat number attached, and settle the tab either to a saved room number or by card through our Stripe account.”
Brewery taproom
Flights, growler fills, and merchandise on one code.
“Build a QR menu for our brewery taproom. Let guests order flights, pints, and growler fills from the table, update the tap list live when kegs change, sell T-shirts and glassware from the same checkout, and email receipts after payment.”
What a busy service runs on
You can test the rush first. In the sandbox, you can run a full Saturday of test orders, make a keg sell out, split a tab, and process a refund before real guests scan.
The menu cannot sell what the kitchen cannot make. Availability, prices, and scheduled specials live in the catalog, so what guests see is what the kitchen and taps can fulfill.
Money stays yours. Tabs settle on your own Stripe account, refunds move only with manager approval, and every order, pour, split, and refund is a row in your own database.
Ordering from your own tables means no aggregator between the guest and the kitchen. Owning the path from bench to kitchen is part of a larger direct-to-customer idea.
Common questions
What exactly is Kliv?
Kliv is an AI app builder. You describe the QR menu and ordering system you need, and it builds the app with menus, table codes, order routing, tabs, and payments.
Do I get a real app, or a template?
A real app. The tables, menu, routing, tabs, split bills, refunds, and admin screens are built around your venue.
Can I change it after it’s built?
Yes. Ask for changes in plain words, such as adding a new queue, changing split-bill rules, or adding a happy-hour window.
Do guests need to install anything?
No. The code opens a web page on your own domain. Guests can read the menu, order, and pay from their phone.
What happens when something runs out?
You mark it sold out once, and it disappears from every open menu. The kitchen or taps stop receiving orders they cannot fill.
How do split bills work?
The tab is one record with every round on it. At close, it can settle whole, split evenly, or split by seat, with separate receipts.
Do my customers need their own Stripe accounts?
No. Guests just pay by card. Payments run through your own Stripe account.
Does Kliv take a cut of each order?
No. Kliv does not price by order count. Card processing costs are between you and Stripe.
Can orders route to different stations?
Yes. Food can go to the kitchen, drinks to the taps, and other items to the right prep area from the same guest order.
Can refunds require manager approval?
Yes. Refunds can move through an approval step, with the approval recorded on the tab.
Can I test it before service?
Yes. You can run test orders, sold-out changes, refunds, and split bills before the system handles real money.
Can I use my own domain?
Yes. The ordering site runs on your own domain.
Where do the order records live?
In your own database, attached to tables, menu items, payments, and refunds, so you can report on service later.
