Membership Areas
Kliv is an AI app builder. Describe the membership site you want — public articles, paid tiers, a private library, member discussions, and billing — and it builds the real app on your own domain.
Just enter your idea into the text box and AI will build it for you
Kliv isn’t a membership platform you configure inside someone else’s rules — it’s an AI that builds software for you.
You describe the app you need in your own words, and Kliv builds it: the database, the access rules, the checkout, the member screens, all of it. What you get is a real application that’s yours. You can use it, change it later by asking, run it on your own domain, and take payments through your own Stripe account. It isn’t a template with your name on it.
On this page, that app is a membership site with public content, paid tiers, and a private member area. Kliv builds all kinds of web apps; this is one.
Membership platforms make many choices for you: what a tier can unlock, what member pages look like, and how easily you can take your audience with you later. That works for simple sites. It breaks down when the membership itself has real rules.
A chess coach might publish a free article every Friday, sell three paid levels, gate annotated games by level, and run a members-only study hall. One game may open to Candidate and Master members, while the monthly review call belongs only to Master.
Kliv builds the site around those rules. The public pages, checkout, gated library, and community all use the same database, so access follows the member’s tier instead of a plugin setting you have to keep in sync.
A membership site needs a public side, a gate, and a private member area. These are the records that hold it together.
Weekly public articles bring in readers. Pages are prerendered so search engines and AI assistants can read the real content and send people back to your site.
Club, Candidate, and Master can each have a price and a set of things they unlock. The content itself says which tier can open it.
A library of annotated games can carry access rules item by item. To a Club member, Master-level material is not shown as a broken lock; it simply is not available.
The study hall is part of your app, with threads stored in your own database and readable only by members who should have access.
Your articles and annotations can be indexed so members can ask questions and get answers based on your material, at the depth their tier allows.
Members can upgrade, downgrade, and fix expired cards from their own billing page. Access changes when billing changes because both read from the same record.
Here’s how one coaching business might use a membership site built with Kliv. It’s only an example — you would describe your own tiers, content, and member rules.
A search about a rare endgame lands on Nadia’s Friday article. The page is readable to crawlers, easy to share, and shows the teaching style before anyone pays.
The reader clicks an annotated game that opens at Candidate and above. The page says what each tier includes, and checkout runs through Nadia’s own Stripe account.
When the reader joins Candidate, the Candidate shelf appears right away. No one sends a password by email, and no separate list has to be updated.
A member asks why the bishop was chosen over the knight in game 214. The site answers from Nadia’s annotations at Candidate depth, and the discussion can continue in the study hall.
After several months, the member upgrades to Master from her own billing page. Proration is handled, and the monthly review call appears on her member home.
When a renewal fails, retries and a recovery email run on schedule. If the card is fixed inside the grace period Nadia set, the member keeps access without support work.
Kliv builds from your description, so the more detail you give, the closer the first version. Spell out the free content, tiers, prices, gates, and member workflows. Here are three to build on:
Free articles, three paid levels, and a gated game library.
“Build a membership site for my chess coaching business. Publish one free article every Friday, offer Club at $9 a month, Candidate at $19 a month, and Master at $49 a month, gate annotated games by tier, include a members-only discussion space, and let members upgrade or downgrade themselves.”
A free blog, one paid tutorial library, and a member board.
“Build a membership site for my watch-repair tutorials. Keep the blog public, charge $15 a month for the full video library, add a members-only question board, and let members update their card or cancel from their own billing page.”
Public browsing with paid downloads.
“Build a membership site for our town history archive. Let visitors browse scanned maps and photographs for free at low resolution, charge members $5 a month to download full scans, and keep each member’s receipts in their account.”
Test the membership before you launch. In the Sandbox, you can run memberships with test payments on a compressed calendar. Try joins, upgrades, failed cards, and cancellations before you connect Stripe or invite real members.
Tax is part of checkout. You register where you owe tax, and checkout calculates what each member’s country requires. Reports come out ready to file, even if you sell a $19 subscription in several currencies.
Analytics connects content to revenue. The app can show which free articles, newsletters, or interviews bring in paid members, using data that lives in your own app.
A site is where a membership starts, not where it ends. Dues cycles, access gates, and member operations are covered on the membership solutions page.
Kliv is an AI that builds custom web apps from a description. You tell it what membership site you need, it builds the app, and you own the result.
A real app. Kliv builds the database, the public pages, the member screens, the checkout, and the access rules for your case. It is not a theme you fill in.
Yes. You ask for changes in plain words, and Kliv updates the site without making you start over.
Yes. Public pages are readable to crawlers and shared freely; gated records are available only to members with the right tier.
Whatever their tier unlocks, immediately. The purchase writes the entitlement, and every page checks that entitlement before it opens.
Yes. You can describe an import page, bring the list, create accounts, assign tiers, and let each member set a password or sign in with Google on first visit.
No. Payments run through your own Stripe account. Kliv does not take a percentage of subscriber revenue.
No. Members just pay by card. Stripe is how the money reaches your account.
Yes. Members can update cards, switch plans where you allow it, and download receipts from their own billing page.
Yes. The site runs on your own domain and can go live as soon as you build it.
Yes. Public pages are prerendered and readable to search engines and AI assistants, and the sitemap is generated for you.
Yes. The source syncs to your own Git repository, so leaving is a git pull, not a rebuild.
Yes. Member threads are rows in your database, member accounts are yours, and the site’s source syncs to your own repo.
