Kliv is an AI app builder. Describe your portal — matters, client walls, document exchange, approvals, invoices, and scoped answers — and it builds the app.
Just enter your idea into the text box and AI will build it for you
Kliv isn’t a file-sharing portal you configure — it’s an AI that builds software for you.
You describe the app you need in your own words, and Kliv builds it: the database, the matter records, the file handling, the access rules, the screens, and the assistant behavior. What you get is a real web app that’s yours, on your own domain, and you can change it later by asking. It isn’t a template.
On this page, that app is a law firm client portal with matter files. Kliv builds all kinds of web apps; this one gives each client a controlled window into its own matters.
Email spreads the matter file across threads, inboxes, attachments, and memory. Generic portals help with file sharing, but they may not know what a matter is, what a recorded approval means, or why client A must never see client B.
Kliv builds the portal around the wall. Every document, deadline, draft, approval, and invoice belongs to a matter; every matter belongs to a client; and a client sign-in shows exactly that client’s matters.
Six objects carry the client work, each with its rule.
Matter number, parties, responsible partner, status, and deadlines live together. A client dashboard shows its own matters and next steps.
Each client is an organization with its own users. The GC and deputy can see the same matters, and neither sees the client next door.
Documents move both directions inside the matter. Versions are kept, and every file carries the matter’s access rule.
A draft moves from draft to client review to approved, and each transition records who clicked and when.
The assistant answers from the signed-in client’s matter files and no others. It reports the record; lawyers give the advice.
Engagement letters, fee terms, and invoices live where the matter lives, so billing questions have the same home as documents.
Here’s how one firm might use a client portal built with Kliv. It’s only an example — you would describe your own matters, client walls, file rules, approvals, invoices, and assistant limits.
A new client organization is created, and the matter opens inside it. From the first hour, every file and deadline inherits the client wall.
The engagement letter enters client review. The GC approves from her phone, and the decision records her name, version, and timestamp.
Two hundred exhibits arrive through the portal, versioned and searchable. The client’s users and firm team can see them; no other client can.
The client asks what is outstanding. The assistant answers from that matter file: two exhibits unsigned, one filing dated last Tuesday.
The matter closes, the client keeps read access to its history, and the next engagement starts inside the same organization wall.
Kliv builds from your description, so the more detail you give, the closer the first version. Say how matters are organized, who can see what, what clients upload, how approvals work, and what the assistant may answer. Here are three to build on:
Matter lists, exhibits, approvals, and deadlines.
“Build a client portal for our litigation firm. Each client organization should see only its matters. Include document exchange with version history, draft approvals recorded per person with timestamp, deadline visibility per matter, and an assistant that answers status questions from that client’s matter file.”
Case stages and document checklists.
“Build a portal where each immigration client sees their case stage, uploads requested documents against a checklist, receives an automatic email when the stage changes, and cannot see any other client’s matter or files.”
Walled workspaces per transaction.
“Build a deal portal where each client company has a walled workspace per transaction, counterparties exchange documents through us, signatures are tracked to recorded approvals, and each approved version records who approved it and when.”
The wall is row-level security. Every matter row carries its client organization, and the platform checks the rule where the data lives on every read. Guessing a URL does not expose another matter.
The assistant is scoped like the portal. It reads the signed-in client’s matter files through the same row rules as the page. Semantic search can find the indemnification carve-out discussed before, but only inside the allowed matter.
Approvals are evidence. Each state change writes who, which version, and when. Scenario tests can prove the walls before launch by signing in as one client and trying to read another’s matter.
A firm is a services business with high stakes, and a portal is one face of it. How agencies and firms build on Kliv covers the wider client-work pattern.
Kliv is an AI that builds custom web apps from a description. For a law firm portal, it can build matters, client walls, file exchange, approvals, invoices, scoped assistant answers, and tests.
A real app. Kliv builds the data rules and screens around your firm’s matter workflow.
