Kliv is an AI app builder. Describe your bar association, and it builds a real member portal for dues, CLE access, member directories, sections, committees, and self-serve records.
Just enter your idea into the text box and AI will build it for you
Kliv isn’t association software you configure through fixed modules. It’s an AI app builder that builds software for you.
You describe the portal you need in your own words, and Kliv builds it: the member records, dues rules, CLE gate, directory, section rooms, billing pages, files, and answers from your materials. What you get is a real app that’s yours. You can run it on your own domain, use your own Stripe account for dues, and keep changing it by asking for changes. It isn’t a template with association labels.
On this page, that app is a bar association member portal. Kliv builds all kinds of web apps; this is one built around member classes, the bar year, CLE, sections, and directories.
A bar association has rules that general membership software may not understand: member classes, bar-year renewals, CLE access, section add-ons, committee files, public and private directory fields, and historical dues records.
Kliv builds the portal around the association’s actual rules. Member class sets dues, dues status controls the CLE library, attorneys edit their own directory records, and staff can read the renewal season as a report instead of reconciling spreadsheets.
The records behind an association of attorneys, and what keeps each one accurate.
Active, government, retired, and new-admittee classes can each carry their own rate and renew on the bar year.
Recorded seminars and materials can open only to current members. If dues lapse, the CLE gate follows the policy you set.
Practice areas, admission year, and contact details can be edited by each attorney. A public find-a-lawyer view shows only the fields the association chooses.
Family law, criminal defense, real property, and other sections can have rosters, discussion spaces, and optional add-on fees that ride with dues.
An assistant can answer from the association’s bulletins, dues schedule, CLE catalog, and guides, showing the source it used.
Here’s how one association might use it. It’s only an example — you would describe your own member classes, dues year, CLE rules, sections, and directory fields.
After the admission ceremony, 40 newly sworn attorneys join through checkout. Their new-admittee class sets the rate, and their directory entries and section invitations are ready the same day.
In January, dues bill by class. A failed card gets retries and a fix link, so many potential lapse calls resolve without staff intervention.
When the ethics seminar recording goes up, current members can watch from the portal. Completion lands on the member record and an attendance letter generates on association letterhead.
An attorney joins the family-law section mid-year. The add-on prorates from the day she joins, and the section space opens immediately.
If a member does not renew after the grace window, the CLE library and section rooms close on schedule while the record remains for the year they return.
Kliv builds from your description, so the more detail you give, the closer the first version. Include classes, dues, renewal timing, CLE rules, directory fields, sections, and imports. Here are three to build on:
Classes, bar-year dues, CLE library, and public directory.
“Build a member portal for our county bar association. We have 1,400 attorneys, five member classes with dues of $240 active, $160 government, $90 retired, $75 new-admittee, and free honorary, renewals on the bar year, a members-only CLE video library, and a public find-a-lawyer directory showing name, practice areas, and firm only.”
Practice-area portal with mentorship and brief bank.
“Build a portal for our employment-law bar association. Members pay $180 a year, new attorneys can request mentorship pairing with veterans, events require registration, and a members-only brief bank is gated to current members.”
Dues, continuing education, job board, and directory.
“Build a member site for our paralegal association. Members pay $95 annual dues, track continuing-education credits per member, employers can post jobs for $75, and the member directory is visible only to signed-in members.”
One member record can open several doors. The dues status on a billing page, the CLE library gate, and section rooms can all read the same membership row. Staff do not reconcile payment lists against access lists.
Files can have audience rules. Brief-bank materials, CLE handouts, committee minutes, and board files can be uploaded once and gated as members-only, section-only, or board-only.
The assistant answers from association materials. Bulletins, fee-arbitration guides, local rules digests, and CLE catalogs can be semantically indexed. The assistant quotes the association’s source; it does not give legal advice.
Renewal season can be rehearsed. In the Sandbox, test payments and simulated time can run a January cycle across five classes, including a failing card and a grace-period lapse.
Dues, gates, and member billing are one pattern with many faces. The full membership picture is at running memberships on Kliv.
Kliv is an AI app builder that creates custom web apps from a description. For a bar association, it builds member records, dues, CLE access, directories, sections, files, and billing around your rules.
A real app. Kliv builds the database, screens, access rules, billing, and portal workflows for your association.
Yes. You can ask for changes later, such as a new member class, a different renewal rule, another directory field, or a new section.
Yes. A comped class can run through the same entitlement flow as paid dues, so honorary members get the right access and the roster still counts them correctly.
The portal can record completions per member and generate attendance letters on your letterhead. Reporting to the state remains the member’s act unless your process says otherwise.
The association does, field by field. The public view can show name, practice areas, and firm, while member-only views include more.
Yes. Each attorney can edit their own record, and row rules prevent them from editing anyone else’s.
Yes. Section fees can be part of the same billing flow and can prorate when someone joins mid-year if you want that rule.
No. Members just pay by card. Dues payments run through the association’s Stripe account.
No. Payments run through your own Stripe account. Card fees are between you and Stripe.
Yes. Historical rosters and dues histories can import as rows in your database, and the portal can export data when an auditor asks.
Yes. The portal can run on the association’s own domain.
Yes. The code syncs to your own Git repository, so leaving is a git pull rather than a rebuild.
