Build an end-to-end interior design platform

Kliv is an AI app builder. Describe your end-to-end interior design platform, and it builds a real app for FF&E schedules, client approvals, project files, phased invoices, and install punch lists on your own Stripe account.

    What is Kliv?

Kliv isn’t a generic project board or client portal — it’s an AI that builds software for you.

You describe the app you need in plain words, and Kliv builds it: project records, client views, file access, approval logic, invoices, punch lists, and admin screens. You own the result, run payments on your own Stripe account where needed, and change it later by asking. It isn’t a template portal.

On this page, that app is an interior design platform for a studio’s full project flow. Kliv builds all kinds of web apps; this is one example.

Why the studio needs one project record

An interior design project can scatter across a spreadsheet, an inbox, a render folder, and a memory of what the client approved. A single room can have 41 line items, each with a spec, vendor, lead time, trade price, client price, and approval state.

Generic project tools know tasks and due dates. They do not know that a sofa has two prices, that a declined fabric needs a reason, or that procurement should wait until approvals are complete. Kliv builds the platform around how the design project moves.

Rooms, renders, approvals: one project record

Every piece of the studio’s work hangs off the same project record.

    The project and its rooms

Each room carries its concept, budget line, and install date. The parlor and primary bedroom can progress separately and roll up to one client view.

    The FF&E schedule

Every line item holds spec, vendor, lead time, trade price, client price, and approval state. The schedule and budget are the same record, not two sheets to reconcile.

    Approvals on the record

A client approval is a row with a name and timestamp. If the dining chairs were approved on May 4, that fact survives later conversations.

    The render shelf

Concepts, CAD files, and finish photos live in the project’s file store. Clients see what the studio publishes; drafts stay private until ready.

    Invoices in phases

Concept, procurement, and install can each bill on their trigger. A $2,750 concept fee invoices on acceptance, and procurement waits for approvals.

    The punch list

Install-day items carry a photo, assignee, status, room, and claim details where needed. A scratched side table becomes a record instead of a text thread.

An example: Adaeze’s interior design studio

Here’s how one studio might use an interior design platform built with Kliv. It’s only an example — you would describe your own rooms, approvals, files, prices, invoices, and install process.

    01

    The inquiry becomes the project

Adaeze’s intake questionnaire becomes the Herreras’ brownstone project record: rooms, budget band, and how they live in the house.

    02

The first concept is shared on purpose

Adaeze publishes round one to the client view. The Herreras see three renders and a direction; an abandoned second scheme stays inside the studio.

    03

Each FF&E line gets its own approval

The parlor schedule opens with 41 line items. The Herreras approve 39 from the sofa over two evenings and decline two, each with the reason kept on the line.

    04

A substitution keeps the budget current

The walnut credenza slips six weeks. Adaeze proposes a substitute on the same line, it is approved Thursday, and the room budget updates with the swap.

    05

The procurement invoice waits for the trigger

When the last line is approved, phase two bills on schedule. The trigger is the approval count in the database, not someone remembering to invoice.

    06

Install day runs from the punch list

Eleven items close by Friday. One scratched table is photographed onto its own line, with the vendor claim attached.

Describe what you want to build

Kliv builds from your description, so the more detail you give, the closer the first version. Name your rooms, approval rules, file access, prices, invoice triggers, and punch-list fields. Here are three to build on:

    kliv.dev

    FF&E approvals

Line-item specs, prices, states, and reasons.

“Build an FF&E schedule for my interior design studio. Each line item should include room, spec, vendor, lead time, trade price, client price, approval state, client approval timestamp, and decline reason, with substitutes linked to the declined line.”

    kliv.dev

    Client project rooms

Each client sees only their own files and schedule.

“Build a client portal for my interior design studio where each client signs in to their own project’s renders, FF&E schedule, weekly updates, and invoices, and no other client project exists in their view.”

    kliv.dev

    Install punch list

Photos, assignees, statuses, and vendor claims per room.

“Add an install-day punch list where each item belongs to a room, carries a photo, assignee, status, due date, and optional vendor claim, and the client sees only the items I publish.”

    How the studio walls work

Two prices can live on one line. Trade price and client price are separate columns. Studio logins can see margin; client sessions are served only the client price, including in exports.

Clients only see their own project. Adaeze sees four projects. A client sees one. The difference is enforced by which rows the database will serve, across pages, files, and downloads.

Weekly updates can write themselves. A scheduled job can send each client a digest of what changed: approved, shipped, slipped, or ready for decision.

Quotes, schedules, and the money that follows them are common in service businesses. Kliv for service businesses covers the wider pattern; this page stays with the design studio.

    Common questions

    What exactly is Kliv?

Kliv is an AI app builder. You describe the design platform you need, it builds the app, and you own the result. For an interior design studio, that means projects, rooms, FF&E schedules, approvals, files, invoices, and punch lists.

Do I get a real app, or a template?

A real app. Kliv builds the project records, client views, approval logic, file rules, invoice triggers, and admin screens for your studio.

Can I change it after it’s built?

Yes. Add a field to the FF&E schedule, change an invoice trigger, add a client view, or revise the punch-list workflow by asking in plain words.

Will the client ever see trade pricing?

No, if your rule says no. The client session is served the client price column and not the trade price or margin, including in pages, PDFs, and exports.

What happens when a client declines an item?

The line keeps its declined state and reason, and any substitute can link back to it. Later, the record explains why the original item changed.

Can clients add their own inspiration?

Yes. Uploads can land in the file store under their project, visible to the client and studio, so inspiration becomes records the concept can reference.

How does the studio get paid?

Phased invoices can run through Stripe on the studio’s own account. Each phase has its trigger, such as acceptance, approvals complete, or install booked. Failed cards can retry with a reminder.

    Does Kliv take a cut?

No. Payments run on your own Stripe account. Card processing costs are between you and Stripe.

Do clients need their own Stripe accounts?

No. Clients just pay by card. Stripe is how the money reaches your account.

Can files be private per project?

Yes. Renders, CAD files, concepts, and photos can be scoped to the project and published only when the studio chooses.

Can I use my own domain?

Yes. The platform can run on your own domain and go live as soon as you build it.

Can I move off Kliv later?

Yes. The code syncs to your own Git repository, so leaving is a git pull, not a rebuild.
