Build an AI-powered news aggregator
Kliv is an AI app builder. Describe your clips, tags, digest schedule, alerts, paywall, and archive, and it builds the news aggregator around your editorial work.
Just enter your idea into the text box and AI will build it for you
What is Kliv?
Kliv isn’t a newsletter tool or a content feed — it’s an AI app builder that creates software for you.
You describe the app you need in plain words, and Kliv builds it: clips, tags, digests, search, subscriptions, alerts, and admin screens. For paid archives, payments run on your own Stripe account. You can change the app later by asking. It isn’t a template.
On this page, that app is an AI-powered news aggregator for a curated industry briefing. Kliv builds all kinds of web apps; this is one example.
Why build your own briefing system?
A daily briefing is more than a sent email. Tomas clips four offshore-wind stories each morning and adds an 80-word take that tells readers why each item matters. A normal newsletter tool sends the edition but does not turn years of judgment into a useful archive.
Kliv builds the briefing as a database. Each clip has a source link, summary, tags, edition, and access rule. Digests, tag alerts, archive search, and subscriptions all read the same records.
What a clipping becomes
The clip is the main record. Editions, alerts, and search are built from it.
The clip
Headline, source link, and Tomas’s 80-word take live as data. The summary is the paid asset; the link points back to the original source.
The tag taxonomy
Auctions, permitting, grid, OEMs, and other beat terms become browsable pages and subscribable alerts.
The edition
A scheduled job gathers the day’s clips into the 06:00 digest and sends it on the briefing’s design.
The archive gate
The latest 14 days can stay free while the five-year archive belongs to subscribers. Access opens and closes with the subscription.
The subscriber assistant
A subscriber can ask what happened with a topic this year. The assistant answers from Tomas’s own summaries and points to the editions it used.
The reading ledger
The app can track which tags get opened, which clips get clicked, and which channels convert readers to paid subscriptions.
An example: Tomas’s offshore-wind briefing
Here’s how one publisher might use it. It’s only an example — you would describe your own beat, clips, tags, schedule, archive, and prices.
Each story becomes a tagged clip
Tomas reads in the evening and clips four stories. Each one gets his own summary and tags, with no layout work.
The morning digest sends itself
At 06:00 the scheduled job assembles the digest from clips marked for today and sends it.
Tag alerts catch niche items
A subscriber following “permitting” gets an extra alert for a consultation deadline that did not make the main four-story digest.
Archive search finds old judgment
A subscriber searches for floating foundations in Norway and finds a three-year-old summary even when the wording differs from the query.
The paywall opens through checkout
A free reader reaches day fifteen, starts a $12 monthly subscription through Tomas’s Stripe account, and gets archive access immediately.
Describe what you want to build
Kliv builds from your description, so include your beat, clip fields, tag rules, schedule, paywall, and subscriber features. Here are three examples:
Industry daily brief
Clips, 06:00 digest, paid archive.
“Build a daily briefing site for offshore wind. I clip four stories a day with my own summaries and tags, send a digest at 06:00, keep the latest 14 days free, and charge $12 a month for the full searchable archive and per-tag alerts.”
Policy tracker
Topic alerts for professionals.
“Build a legislation tracking briefing where analysts subscribe to topic tags, get alert emails when I clip a matching story, search past coverage, and pay $29 a month per seat with organization billing.”
Local news roundup
Weekly digest with free and paid tiers.
“Build a weekly local news roundup with a free Friday digest, neighborhood tag pages, a $5 monthly supporter tier that opens the full archive, and a scheduled dead-link sweep every month.”
Scheduled publishing and subscriptions
Scheduled jobs handle the routine. The 06:00 digest, Friday week-in-review, and monthly dead-link sweep can all run on a schedule.
The subscription behaves like a subscription. Failed renewals can be retried, subscribers can receive a repair link, and archive access can close only after the grace period you set. Organization billing can put multiple analysts on one invoice with the company tax ID.
The assistant does not write the briefing. It retrieves from your summaries and answers from your archive. The judgment about what matters stays yours.
Paywalls, reader funnels, and publishing workflows are covered more broadly at the media solutions page.
Common questions
What exactly is Kliv?
Kliv is an AI app builder that creates custom web apps from a description. For a briefing business, it can build clips, tags, digests, search, subscriptions, alerts, and admin screens.
Do I get a real app, or a template?
A real app. Kliv builds the records, pages, paywall, scheduled jobs, and subscriber access around your briefing.
Can I change it after it’s built?
Yes. You can change tags, prices, schedules, alert rules, archive access, and page layouts later.
Is an aggregator allowed to republish headlines?
The source example publishes your own summaries and links back to sources. Subscribers pay for your writing and archive, not a copy of the source articles.
Does the assistant write the briefing for me?
No. It searches and answers from summaries you wrote. The editorial work stays with you.
Can readers who forward the digest leak the archive?
They can forward the email, but archive pages can check whether the signed-in reader has an active subscription.
Does Kliv take a cut of subscribers?
No. Payments run through your own Stripe account. Card fees are between you and Stripe.
Do subscribers need Stripe accounts?
No. They just pay by card.
Can I support corporate subscriptions?
Yes. The source example includes organization billing with multiple analysts under one invoice and a company tax ID.
Can the archive show up in search?
Free pages can be rendered for search engines. Subscriber-only pages can stay behind the gate you define.
What happens to the archive if I leave?
Your clips are records in a database, and the app’s code syncs to your own Git repository.
Can I move off Kliv later?
Yes. The code and data are under your control, so leaving does not mean losing the archive.
