Build an AI app people pay for
Kliv is an AI app builder. Describe the AI app you want, and it builds the agent, the document library it answers from, subscriber accounts, monthly question limits, and billing on your own Stripe account.

What is Kliv?
Kliv isn’t a tool for wiring together a demo — it’s an AI that builds software for you.
You describe the app you need in plain words, and Kliv builds it: the database, the screens, the agent, the document library, the accounts, and the billing. What you get is a real app that’s yours. You can run it on your own accounts, including your own Stripe account, and change it later by asking. It isn’t a template.
On this page, that app is an AI app people can pay for. Kliv builds all kinds of web apps; this page focuses on apps where an AI assistant (the “agent”) answers questions from documents you own.
What an AI app needs around the agent
A useful paid AI app is more than the agent. It needs accounts, privacy, billing, usage tracking, saved conversations, and a library of the documents you trust.
For example, a marine diesel expert may have decades of service manuals, bulletins, and repair notes. Kliv can turn that archive into a working subscription app where technicians ask questions, pay for access, and keep their own history private.
The working parts of an AI app built on your documents
The pieces that turn an answer engine into a product people can use and pay for.
Your documents
Manuals, bulletins, and notes become searchable as soon as you upload them. There is nothing extra for you to run.
The agent
The agent answers from your documents and from the signed-in subscriber’s own history. It can also do things you allow, such as looking up a part or saving a fix.
Saved conversations
Every conversation is stored in your own database. You can search them, read them, and see what to upload next.
Plans and usage
A plan can include a set number of questions each month, with a price for each question after that. The app counts each question a subscriber asks, and the bill uses that same count, so the two always agree.
Photos from the field
A technician can upload a photo, such as a corroded heat exchanger, and the app can match it against your labeled photo library.
Accounts and access
Users sign in with email, Google, or a passkey. Paying opens the agent, and a lapsed subscription closes access on the schedule you set.
What building one looks like
Take a technician-manuals app as the example. Each step is something you do; you would describe your own documents, users, pricing, and access rules.
Describe the app
Say who it is for, what documents it answers from, and how you charge. Kliv builds the pages, database, sign-in, and an agent ready for your documents.
Upload your documents
Add manuals and notes PDF by PDF; they become searchable as you go. Ask questions you already know the answers to, and the gaps show you what to upload next.
Set the price
For example $19 a month with 100 questions included and $0.15 for each extra question. The app’s price list applies it.
Try billing in practice mode
Pretend subscribers go through free trials, declined cards, cancellations, and access changes, before you connect Stripe.
Check that access rules hold
An automatic check signs in as a subscriber who stopped paying and asks a question. The app refuses and records why.
Publish on your domain
The app goes live on your own domain, and its pages can be read by search engines and AI assistants.
Describe the AI app you want
Kliv builds from your description, so include the documents, user accounts, pricing, usage limits, privacy rules, and what the agent may do. Here are three examples:
Manual-grounded assistant
Technicians ask; your manuals answer.
“Build a subscription app for HVAC technicians. Subscribers ask an agent questions answered from installation manuals and service bulletins I upload. Charge $29 a month after a 7-day free trial, include 150 questions per month, store each subscriber’s history, and let them save useful answers.”
Policy answer desk
An internal agent that cites the handbook.
“Build an internal app where employees ask questions about our handbook, benefits, and procedures. The agent should answer only from documents HR uploads, cite the source document, store every transcript, and escalate unanswered questions to an HR review queue.”
Photo identification app
Members send pictures; the library answers.
“Build an app where members upload photos of vintage watch movements. The agent should identify them against my reference library, include 10 identifications in a $12 monthly plan, bill extra identifications at $0.75 each, and keep each member’s saved identifications private.”
How it comes together
Answers come from your documents. The agent answers from what you upload. Saved conversations show exactly where your documents ran out, so you know what to upload next.
Plans and usage share one price list. Included questions, the price per extra question, and an annual plan are all prices in the same list. Access opens and closes as billing changes.
Privacy is per subscriber. One technician’s saved fixes and conversation history belong to that technician. The agent reads the signed-in user’s records and nobody else’s.
This manuals example is one kind of app Kliv builds. Others are help desks, research assistants, and writing tools. See them all on the AI apps page.
Common questions
What exactly is Kliv?
Kliv is an AI app builder. You describe the custom web app you need, and Kliv builds the app, including the data, screens, agent, accounts, and billing.
Do I get a real app, or a template?
A real app. It has its own database, user accounts, access rules, screens, and workflows. It is not a generic AI demo.
Can I change it after it’s built?
Yes. You can change pricing, add documents, change what the agent can do, revise screens, or add new user flows by asking.
Do I need to set up or run anything technical myself?
No. You add the documents. Making them searchable, finding the right passages, running the assistant, and saving conversations are all handled by the app Kliv builds.
Who owns the conversations?
You do. Every conversation sits in your own database beside subscribers and payments, where you can read and search it.
Can I charge per question?
Yes. Pricing can count a unit you define, such as a question, identification, or document. Plans can include a number of them and bill the extras.
What stops a subscriber who stops paying?
Access follows the subscription. A lapse closes the agent on the schedule you set, and rejoining opens it again.
Does Kliv take a cut of each subscriber payment?
No. Payments run on your own Stripe account. Card processing costs are between you and Stripe.
Can I use my own domain?
Yes. The app can run on your own domain and go live as soon as you build it.
Can I move off Kliv later?
Yes. The code syncs to your own Git repository (the standard place developers keep code), so leaving is a copy rather than a rebuild.
Can each user keep private history?
Yes. Conversation history and saved notes belong to the signed-in user, and the agent sees only that user’s records, the same rule as the rest of the app.
Can the app handle photos?
Yes, if that is part of the app you describe. The example on this page matches uploaded photos against a labeled photo library.
