Build an identity and access management platform
Kliv is an AI app builder. Describe your identity and access management platform: system catalog, grants with reasons and expiry dates, approvals, quarterly reviews, revocation checks, and audit exports.
Just enter your idea into the text box and AI will build it for you
What is Kliv?
Kliv isn’t an IAM suite you configure module by module. It’s an AI app builder that builds software for you.
You describe the app you need in plain words, and Kliv builds it: the database, request workflow, screens, permissions, scheduled reviews, and exports. What you get is a real app that’s yours. You can run it on your own accounts and change it later by asking. It isn’t a template.
On this page, that app is an access register for internal systems, grants, reviews, and audit evidence. Kliv builds all kinds of web apps; this is one enterprise access example.
Why access reviews outgrow the spreadsheet
A company can keep access facts in many places: ERP users, badge exports, shared-drive permissions, and a review spreadsheet. When an auditor asks who could modify pricing in March and who approved it, those copies have to be reconciled.
Kliv builds the access register those exports never become. Systems, roles, grants, requests, and reviews are rows in one database, with reasons, approvers, expiry dates, timestamps, and review outcomes.
The grant, fully described
Access management starts with five records that refuse to be vague.
The system catalog
ERP, MES, shared drives, and badge zones each have owners and roles. Nothing can be granted until the system and role are described.
The grant
Each grant records person, role, reason, approver, and expiry. A grant without a reason or expiry can be refused.
The request
Requested, approved, provisioned, and verified are workflow states. Each transition records who did it and when.
The review campaign
Each quarter, managers confirm or revoke their team’s grants. Unreviewed grants escalate instead of passing by silence.
The evidence file
For any period, the register can export who held what, who approved it, what changed, and what was revoked.
An example: Oskar’s equipment manufacturer
Here’s how one company might use an access management platform built with Kliv. It’s only an example — you would describe your own systems, owners, roles, and audit rules.
A new hire receives standard grants
A machinist starts on the floor. The role template creates MES operator, badge zone B, and maintenance drive grants, each with the reason “standard floor role” and a 12-month expiry.
The quarterly campaign forces decisions
Her manager reviews eleven grants, confirms ten, and revokes an abandoned test account he cannot explain. The campaign ends only when every grant has an answer.
A transfer creates an access diff
She moves from the floor to quality. The platform drafts two grants to add and one to retire, with decisions and dates instead of old access lingering.
The auditor gets one export
An auditor asks who had pricing access in March. Oskar filters by system and date range and exports grants, reasons, approvals, and revocations.
A departure opens a closure checklist
Offboarding lists every active grant. Each system owner marks revocation complete, and the departure closes only after the last check.
Describe what you want to build
Kliv builds from your description, so include the systems, owners, roles, approval steps, review cadence, and evidence exports. Here are three examples:
Access request workflow
Request, approve, provision, verify.
“Build an access request tool for our company. Employees should request roles from a system catalog, each system owner should approve with a reason and expiry date, provisioning should be confirmed, and every grant should record approver, timestamp, and expiry.”
Quarterly review campaigns
Confirm or revoke, with escalation.
“Build an access review tool that opens a quarterly campaign for each department. Managers must confirm or revoke each team member’s grants, unreviewed grants escalate to system owners after seven days, and the campaign exports results for audit.”
Contractor access register
Time-boxed grants with a hard stop.
“Build a contractor access register. Every grant should tie to a contract end date, sponsors should receive emails 14 days before expiry, and expired grants should land on a revocation checklist for system owners.”
Where the trust comes from
Approvals happen where people work, but the record stays in the register. A Slack message can notify a system owner, but the approval itself is a row with a name and timestamp.
Campaigns run on a calendar. A scheduled job opens the quarterly review, chases silent managers, and escalates what is unanswered.
Views follow the org chart. Employees can see their own grants, managers can see their teams, and auditors can get read-only access across the register.
The register must protect itself. Users can sign in with email and password, Google sign-in, passkeys, and TOTP two-factor.
Kliv’s own enterprise controls include SSO against your identity provider, SCIM for group sync, audit logs, and separate live and test environments. Those controls are covered at Kliv for enterprise.
Common questions
What exactly is Kliv?
Kliv is an AI app builder. You describe the access management app you need, and it builds the register, workflow, permissions, reviews, and exports.
Do I get a real app, or a template?
A real app. Your systems, owners, roles, grants, review cadence, and evidence exports are built for your organization.
Can I change it after it’s built?
Yes. You can add systems, change review cadence, add approval steps, or change export fields by asking.
Does it provision access automatically?
It is the system of record and the workflow around provisioning. Owners grant access in their systems, then confirm it here, and that verification is stamped onto the request.
Can employees browse each other’s access?
No, if you scope it that way. Employees can see their own grants, managers can see their teams, and auditors can read everything without write access.
What does the auditor get?
An evidence export for the period under review: grants held, reasons, approvers, review outcomes, and revocations, all drawn from the register.
How do people sign into the register itself?
Kliv apps support email and password, Google sign-in, passkeys, and TOTP two-factor, plus roles and teams for access boundaries.
Can reviews run every quarter automatically?
Yes. A scheduled job can open campaigns, remind managers, and escalate unreviewed grants.
Can grants expire?
Yes. Grants can require expiry dates, send warnings before expiry, and land on revocation checklists when they end.
Can we test the workflow before using it live?
Yes. You can use a test environment to run requests, approvals, reviews, and exports before relying on the live register.
Can I move off Kliv later?
Yes. The code syncs to your own Git repository, so leaving is a git pull rather than a rebuild.
Do I need a separate admin tool?
No. The platform is its own admin for systems, roles, users, grants, campaigns, and evidence exports.
