    Fundraising & Donation Sites

Build a custom fundraising and donation website

Kliv is an AI app builder. Describe your fundraising and donation website — goal, live meter, one-time and monthly gifts, receipts, updates, and analytics — and it builds it on your own Stripe account.

    What is Kliv?

Kliv isn’t a donation portal with someone else’s branding you sign up for and configure — it’s an AI app builder that builds software for you.

You describe what you need in your own words, and Kliv builds it: the database, the logic, the screens, and the rules. What you get is a real, working application that’s yours. You can use it, change it later by asking for changes, and run it on your own domain and your own Stripe account. It isn’t a template with your name on it.

On this page, that app is a fundraising and donation website for your campaign. Kliv builds all kinds of web apps; this is one example, and that’s what the rest of this page covers.

Why build your own fundraising site?

A local campaign depends on trust. Donors want to know who is asking, what the goal is, how close the campaign is, and what happens after they give. A generic donation portal can process a card, but it often puts another brand and another account system between the donor and the cause.

Kliv builds the fundraising site around your campaign. The page uses your voice. The progress meter reads actual gifts from the database. Donor records and receipts stay with you. Kliv does not price per gift or per donor, and donations run on your own Stripe account.

What the campaign keeps track of

A believable campaign needs records that do not need manual reconciliation.

    The campaign and meter

A goal, deadline, and raised-so-far total computed from actual gifts. The meter reads the gifts table, so it stays honest.

    Donors

One-time givers and monthly donors each get a record with giving history and receipts, so future campaigns can thank people by name.

    Monthly gifts and failed cards

Monthly gifts renew on schedule. If a card fails, retries and recovery emails help the donor fix it before the gift is lost.

    Receipts and year-end letters

Every gift emails a receipt on your template. January giving summaries can send as a scheduled job.

    The build log

Photos and updates show donors what their money is becoming: the old equipment, the order confirmation, delivery day, or the finished project.

    The match weekend

A match can be its own timed sub-campaign with its own meter and deadline, using the same gifts table.

An example: Lena’s volunteer fire brigade campaign

Here’s how one nonprofit campaign might use it. It’s only an example — you would describe your own goal, donor options, updates, and receipt rules.

    01

The campaign launches with a visible goal

Lena’s brigade starts a $120,000 water-tender campaign. The site goes live, QR stickers go up at the shop and station, first gifts land, the meter moves, and receipts send automatically.

    02

    Monthly donors form the base

Fourteen households choose monthly giving. The recurring gifts renew on their own, so the campaign has support beyond launch week.

    03

The match weekend creates a real deadline

The local lumber yard matches the first 48 hours of November gifts. The sub-campaign has its own meter and deadline; when it ends, it ends.

    04

Analytics show where the next push belongs

In month three, giving slows. The campaign data shows station QR stickers out-raise the town social feed four to one, so the committee prints more stickers.

    05

Expired cards recover without awkward calls

Two monthly donors’ cards fail. Retries and recovery emails fix both within a week, and the recurring circle holds.

    06

The donor list stays for the next need

When the meter crosses $120,000, every donor gets a thank-you. The donor records remain, because the station roof is the next campaign.

Describe the fundraising website you want to build

Kliv builds from your description, so the more detail you give, the closer the first version. Include the goal, deadline, donor options, receipts, updates, and matching rules. Here are three to build on:

    kliv.dev

    Volunteer brigade appeal

One truck, one town, real receipts.

“Build a fundraising site for our volunteer fire brigade. The campaign goal is $120,000 for a water tender, with a live meter computed from paid gifts, one-time donations, monthly giving at $10, $25, and $50, automatic receipts, January year-end summaries, QR codes for the station and local shops, and photo updates through delivery day.”

    kliv.dev

    School instrument fund

    A goal parents can follow.

“Build a donation website for our school instrument fund. Set a $15,000 goal, show class-by-class sub-meters, accept one-time gifts and $20 monthly giving, send receipts automatically, and show a thank-you wall for donor families who choose to be public.”

    kliv.dev

    Shelter roof appeal

    A deadline before the rains.

“Build a fundraising page for our animal shelter roof project. Set a $40,000 goal, a September 30 deadline, one-time and monthly giving, a 48-hour match weekend for the first $5,000, photo updates from the repairs, and automatic receipts on our shelter template.”

    How it comes together

Monthly giving uses subscription tools. Recurring gifts renew on schedule, failed cards retry, and donors can change the amount or pause from a self-serve page.

Receipts use your templates. Gift confirmations, recovery emails, and year-end summaries send in your voice. The scheduled job that sends January letters reads the same gift records as the meter.

Channel numbers guide the next ask. Analytics can tie gifts to the station QR, newsletter link, or town feed. Custom events are described in plain words, without a tag manager.

Dues, volunteers, members, and annual reports are the rest of a working nonprofit. That broader picture is at Kliv for nonprofits.

    Common questions

    What exactly is Kliv?

Kliv is an AI app builder. You describe the software you need, it builds the working website, and you own the result. For this page, that means a campaign site with goals, one-time gifts, monthly giving, receipts, updates, donor records, and analytics. Donations run through your own Stripe account.

Do I get a real website, or a template?

A real website. Kliv builds the data, rules, and screens for your specific case, not a pre-made theme you fill in. You keep changing it by describing what you want different.

Can I change it after it’s built?

Yes. Ask for changes in plain words and Kliv updates the app. You can adjust fields, workflows, pages, emails, access rules, and reports without starting over.

    Do donors get receipts automatically?

Yes. Every one-time or monthly gift can email a receipt on your template when payment lands. Year-end giving summaries can send as a scheduled job.

Does Kliv take a cut of each donation?

No. Kliv does not price per gift or per donor. Donations are processed through your own Stripe account, and card fees are between you and Stripe.

Do donors need their own Stripe accounts?

No. Donors just pay by card. Stripe is the payment rail behind your campaign.

Can we run monthly giving without an administrator?

Yes. Monthly gifts renew on their own, failed cards retry, recovery emails send, and donors can adjust their amount from a self-serve page.

    Is the progress meter real?

Yes. It is computed from the gifts table, the same records that receipts use. It does not need manual updating.

Can we run a match weekend?

Yes. A match can have its own deadline and meter while still writing to the same gifts table.

    Can we post campaign updates?

Yes. You can add photos and updates so donors can follow progress after giving.

Can we use our own domain?

Yes. The campaign can run on your own domain.

Will the site show up in search?

Yes. Pages are prerendered so search engines and AI assistants can read them, and the sitemap is generated for the site.

Do I need a separate CMS or donation portal?

No. The site is its own admin: edit campaign text, post updates, view donors, and manage receipts in one place.
